[edit] Rebrand (January 2012)
In January, 2012, it was rebranded and opened up to locals as well as students, as well as becoming an extension of the nearby Boathouse bar.[2]
[edit] Ownership
The club has been owned by the Ultimate Leisure Group plc[3] since 1997, which later became 'Premium Bars and Restaurants plc',[4][5] which has a substantial holding of establishments[6] across the North East. In August 2009 BDO Stoy Hayward were appointed administrators of Premium Bars and Restaurants.[7]
[edit] College Nights
Six of the seven nights during which the club opens, that is Saturday until Thursday, used to be allocated to certain Durham University colleges.[8] This means that students received free entry if they arrived before 22:45. Since the relaunch, the venue now offers free entry to everyone before 11pm each night.[citation needed]
