[edit] Original location
"Soak City U.S.A" opened in Orange County in 1999. It is located east of Knott's Berry Farm and occupies 13 acres (53,000 m2) near the Knott's main parking lot and Independence Hall.
[edit] Features
The original park features several attractions:
- Gremmie Lagoon – an area for smaller children to get acquainted to the water park.
- Sunset River – a 1/3 mile long continuous circuit lazy river for relaxed tubing.
- Toyota Beach House – a three-story tall family fun area and splash zone with two beginner slides.
- Malibu Run – features four more adventurous slides, Dropoff, Wave Chaser, Heavy Swell, and Rincon.
- Old Man Falls – a 62-foot (19 m) high, triplet of speed slides for advanced riders.
- Laguna Storm Watch Tower – three enclosed tube slides.
- Banzai Falls – a six-lane family waterslide race down bumps.
- Tidal Wave Bay – a 750,000 gallon wave pool.
(The newer parks in Chula Vista and Palm Springs feature similar attractions.)
In 2006, the Soak City water parks each installed new attractions, the Pacific Spin described as an enclosed tube dropping into a six-story funnel laying on its side.
[edit] Safety
Several Soak City employees have received the "Golden Guard Award" and the "Platinum National Aquatic Safety Award".

- Chula Vista, California – The chain's second water park, formerly known as White Water Canyon, opened in 2000.
- Palm Springs, California – The chain's third water park, formerly known as Oasis Water Park, opened in 2001.
