Kokborok Sahitya Sabha (KBSS) was formed on 8 October 1972, under the leadership of Lt. Alindralal Tripura. Since then, KBSS has been working for the development of Kokborok language of Tripura (Twipra). KBSS has its office in Agartala, the capital city of the state.

Nanda Kumar Deb Barma ( Poet, Novelist, Dramatist, Musician and creative Performer)who has been awarded Rabindra Puraskar by the Govt. of Tripura, Bhasa Samman by Gandhi Hindustani Sahitya Sabha, Delhi and Felicitated by the TTAADC, Khumulwng.
