Kokila is a 1977 Kannada language film starring Kamal Haasan in the lead role of the protagonist. The movie also stars Mohan as Kamal's friend along with Roja Ramani and Sobha. This was directional debut for Balu Mahendra. It was also remade into Hindi as Aur Ek Prem Kahani in 1996.

- Best screenplay from the Government of Karnataka.
- National Award for best Cinematography in Black and White for the year 1977.
- This film was screened in the International Film Festival of India then known as Filmotsav78 in Chennai.
- The film was not only a hit in Karnataka but also was a super hit in Tamil Nadu, Madras in particular, that too in its original language Kannada without being dubbed to Tamil and also in Andhra Pradesh.
- In 1980 this film run for more than 140 days in Chennai, this record is yet to be broken by any other Kannada film for the past 28 years.

- Kamal Haasan didn't know Kannada at that time but dubbed in his own voice.
- This was also the debut film of actor Mohan, who later became a successful actor in Tamil.
