Koohdasht (also Kuhdasht) is a city in the Lorestan province in western Iran. The population was estimated to number 230000 residents in 2009 [1].

Koohdasht is a large plain which is surrounded by mountains. In Persian, Koohdash is composed of "Kooh," which means mountain, and "Dasht," which means plain. Koohdasht was the residence of Kassites, one of the ancient peoples of Zagros mountains. There are some antique pieces of bronze in Louvre museum from Kassite civilization.
