Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL), formerly known as Kuala Lumpur Infrastructure University College (KLIUC), was established in 1998 following the privatisation of the Research and Training Institute of Public Works Department, Malaysia (IKRAM). On 23 February 2012, IKRAM Education Sdn. Bhd. was invited by the Ministry of Higher Education to apply for the establishment of a private university to be known as the Infrastructure University of Kuala Lumpur.

It is located on the border of Kajang and Serdang. IUKL is guided by their motto, "For Knowledge, For Humanity".[citation needed] The President and Vice-Chancellor of IUKL is Professor Dr. Ir. Roslan Zainal Abidin.

IUKL's 100-acre (0.40 km2) campus is in the vicinity of Kajang town, which is located between Kuala Lumpur, the commercial capital of Malaysia, and Putrajaya, the administrative capital. The campus is accessible via the North-South Highway (or Seremban Highway) and is a 35-minute drive from Kuala Lumpur city centre. Students can also make their way to IUKL via KTM Komuter service to Serdang Station and LRT to Sungai Besi Station, then get on to IUKL feeder bus service. From November 2013 IUKL gained the full status of a university and is now known as Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL).
