Prince Kubrat of Bulgaria, Prince of Panagyurishte (born November 5, 1965), is the third son of Tsar Simeon II of Bulgaria and his wife Doña Margarita Gómez-Acebo y Cejuela. He was born in Madrid. The Prince of Panagyurishte is a Medical doctor and a Knight of the Order of the Golden Fleece. He is known also as Kubrat of Bulgaria and Kubrat of Panagyurishte, the latter being the title of the third son of Bulgarian kings.
In Madrid on July 2, 1993 Kubrat married doña Carla María de la Soledad Royo-Villanova y Urrestarazu, daughter of Jaime Royo-Villanova y Paya and wife María del Carmen Urrestarazu y Ozueta. They have three sons:
- HRH Prince Mirko Panagiurishtski of Bulgaria, born April 26, 1995 in Madrid.
- HRH Prince Lukás Panagiurishtski of Bulgaria, born July 15, 1997 in Madrid.
- HRH Prince Tirso Panagiurishtski of Bulgaria, born June 3, 2002 in Madrid.
He is the godfather of Pablo Nicolás Urdangarín y de Borbón.
