Kulai is a ward under municipal limits of Mangalore city Corporation. It is near Surathkal town. There is a Shree Vishnumurthy Temple in Kulai. The area was covered with paddy fields, coconut gardens and forest (padi in Tulu) previously. Now it has become a residential cum commercial area.
