kulula.com, sometimes known as Kulula Air or more simply as Kululu (Zulu: It's easy[1]), is a South African low-fare airline, operating on major domestic routes out of OR Tambo International Airport, outside of Johannesburg. There are also a limited number of international flights to Namibia, Mauritius, Zambia and Zimbabwe.[2] The headquarters of the company are located at Bonaero Park, Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni, Gauteng.[3]

kulula.com was established in July 2001 and started operations in August of the same year. It is a wholly owned low-cost subsidiary of British Airways franchise Comair.[2]

On Kulula.com it is also possible make a booking for travel on other carriers from Johannesburg (OR Tambo International Airport to destinations outside South Africa. kulula.com has become well known for its distinctive, brightly colored and often humorous livery.[6] One aircraft is covered with a legend describing the different parts of the airplane, which is known as Flying 101.[7]

kulula.com offers food and drinks as a buy on board programme.[8] In contrast to other low-cost airlines, it offers a frequent flyer program, which is called Jetsetters.[9]
[edit] Lawsuits over illegal marketing in the wake of the 2010 FIFA World Cup
In 2010 kulula.com was forced by FIFA to stop a campaign describing itself as the "Unofficial National Carrier of the You-Know-What",[10][11] which took place "Not next year, not last year, but somewhere in between.",[12] obviously referring to the Association Football World Cup which took place in South Africa at that time. Another advert announced "affordable flights for everybody" except Sepp Blatter, who was offered a free seat "for the duration of that thing that is happening right now".[13]
