Kumamoto Technology Center

As of December, 2004, the Kumamoto Technology Center is a planned facility for manufacturing complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) components for camera phones. Consumer electronics corporation Sony plans to invest 50 billion JPY in the Center. The investment would be part of a larger, 500 billion JPY investment in semiconductor technology.
