Lords Institute of Engineering And Technology (LRDS) is one of the premier Engineering Colleges in the self-financing category in India.It is located in Himayat Sagar, Hyderabad, India. It is 28 km away from Secunderabad railway station. The college is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. The college is being accredited by the National Board of Accreditation and is ISO 9001:2000 certified. LRDS is ranked among the top 50 private engineering colleges in India by Outlook.

There are labs and computer centers within all the blocks of the college. There is a library and information center, sports and indoor and outdoor games.

The college admits undergraduate students through the state-wide EAMCET exam conducted every year. It offers the Bachelors of Technology(B.Tech) courses in:

  • Civil Engineering (CIV)
  • Computer Science Engineering (CSE)
  • Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE)
  • Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE)]
  • Information Technology Engineering (IT)
  • Mechanical Engineering (ME)

The Masters in Technology (MTech) course is offered to CSE,ECE AND CIVIL students. The college also offers Master in Business Administration (MBA) and Master in Computer Applications (MCA) courses through its department of management.


Intake: 660 students are offered seats in undergraduate courses every year through EAMCET. Through GATE, MTech and ME courses are offered to about 104 students. Through ICET, Management Courses are available to about 120 students.

LRDS placement cell was established in 2002 with a prime objective of creating career opportunities for promising LORDS students in reputed corporates towards meeting aspirations of all the stakeholders. To accomplish this career objective placement cell has identified corporates in various sectors and initiated the process of building a mutually rewarding relationship with them. LRDS placement cell had a humble beginning in 1996 and at present it has an exclusive built up space of 250000 sqft which is well furnished with all the state of art facilities like conference hall , home theatre, LCD projector, PA system and an office which is equipped with laptop, desktops, laser printers, handy cam, digital camera, invertors, air conditioners, exclusive room for group discussion, 9 exclusive interview rooms and a self sufficient pantry. LRDS was ranked 31st in the country and 1st in the state in placements among top 100 engineering colleges by ‘OUTLOOK’ magazine 17th July 2006 issue.[citation needed]

LRDS stands as the only Engineering College in the state with 553 students placed in organizations through campus interviews from August 2006 to March, 2007. LRDS, over the past 27 years has produced about 12,000 graduate engineers, who are serving all over the state.[citation needed]

Sports

Every year, as part of Sanketika, the Inter-Department Fest, an inter-department sports competition is held. Sports in the Fest are basketball, football, cricket, badminton, volleyball, kabadi, and track and field events. [[1]

  • Student Activities

The college holds the cultural fest CARPE DIEM every 2 years, and the inter-department fest, "Shruti" every year. Each branch has its own tech-fest scheduled at the beginning of each year. Reunion Day for the alumni is held every year on 25 December.[2]
