Missy Newsome (born July 24, 1984), better known by her stage name LaTangela, is an American actress, and singer. She is best known for her role on the Nickelodeon television series Taina as Maritza Hogg, Taina's troublemaking arch nemesis.

She has appeared in music videos including Mariah Carey's "Fantasy", Jodeci's "Get On Up", Subway's "I'll Make Your Dreams Come True" and Deborah Cox's "Where Do We Go From Here". She recorded various tracks for the soundtrack to the Nickelodeon television series Taina. She has appeared on "Showtime in Harlem", singing Through The Fire by Chaka Khan. She is also working on her full length studio debut album, which is to be released soon.

In 2011, she released her debut single Imma Do Me on iTunes under her own label SilverShadow Productions, alongside Island Def Jam Digital. The official music video can be seen on YouTube.

From 2001-2002, She appeared as Maritza Hogg, Taina's troublemaking arch nemesis in Taina with Christina Vidal.

She is currently a member of the critically acclaimed City Kids Repertory Group in Manhattan.
