Ladija Vera Manić of Yugoslavia is the first delegate from her country to win a major beauty pageant title. She won the Miss International 1975 title in Motobu, Japan.[1]
She was succeeded by French delegate Sophie Sonia Perin as Miss International in 1976. Incidentally, Perin and Manic were delegates of their respective countries in the Miss Universe pageat in 1975 in San Salvador, El Salvador. Both were unplaced.
Since Yugoslavia has since disintegrated into several countries, Ladija Manić will remain as the only winner of a major beauty pageant from Yugoslavia, beside Saša Zajc, Miss Europe 1969.
