Lakarka is a census town in Dhanbad district in the Indian state of Jharkhand.

As of 2001[update] India census,[1] Lakarka had a population of 6,962. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Lakarka has an average literacy rate of 54%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 67%, and female literacy is 40%. In Lakarka, 17% of the population is under 6 years of age.
