Lake Makoma is a reservoir located east of Laporte in Sullivan County, Pennsylvania. The lake is owned and operated by a private association, and is a source of year-round recreation. Swimming, fishing, sailboating, canoeing, sunbathing are popular in the summer, and cross-country skiing, ice skating, and ice fishing are popular in the winter months.
The Lake Makoma Conservancy is group owning and responsible for preserving a large portion of land adjacent to the lake itself.
