Lander Crossing (also, Lander)[2] is an unincorporated community in Placer County, California.[1] Lander Crossing is located on the Southern Pacific Railroad, 2.5 miles (4.0 km) south-southwest of Colfax.[2] It lies at an elevation of 2300 feet (701 m).[1]
The name honors Frederick West Lander, superintendent for the wagon road in 1858.[2]
