Laranjada is a type of carbonated soft drink with an orange flavour, which is sold in bars, restaurants and supermarkets all over the island of Madeira. It may also be purchased on mainland Portugal on Campo Pequeno, in the supermarket "Sá". It is produced and distributed by the Empresa de Cervejas da Madeira, which is owned by the Pestana Group.
Laranjada is 14 years older than the famous Coca-Cola drink.
Launched in 1872, it was the first soft drink to be produced in Portugal and therefore the oldest, remaining very popular to the present day.
