Larchmont, Los Angeles
Larchmont (alternately Larchmont Village) is the commercial heart of an area in mid-city Los Angeles, California. The area's geographical location within the Windsor Square neighborhood receives patronage from nearby Hancock Park, located to the west, and Hollywood adjacent to the north. Although the neighborhood lies wholly within Windsor Square, and serves as Windsor Square's "main street," it is commonly thought of as a distinct district. Larchmont Village is centered on Larchmont Boulevard between Beverly Boulevard and 3rd Street. A streetcar went up and down the street until the 1940s.
The area is close to Wilshire Country Club, Los Angeles Tennis Club and the former Black-Foxe Military Institute, a private preparatory school.
Keystone Kops chases were filmed on Larchmont Boulevard. The 1936 Three Stooges film False Alarms used both Third Street and Larchmont Boulevard. Today many of the local homes are used to film commercials and movies. The 1983 film WarGames utilized a home at Lucerne and Second Street as a major backdrop and set.

Larchmont is a part of the Los Angeles Unified School District.[1] Elementary schools include Van Ness Elementary School, Third Street Elementary School, and Vine Street Elementary School. Middle/junior high schools include John Burroughs Junior High School and Le Conte Middle School. High schools include Los Angeles High School and Fairfax High School.
Charter schools include Larchmont Charter School, a K-8 school.[2]
