Larestan County (Persian: شهرستان لارستان) is a county in Fars Province in Iran. The capital of the county is Lar.[1] At the 2006 census, the county's population (including those portions later split off to form Gerash County) was 223,235, in 49,571 families; excluding those portions, the population was 183,887, in 40,837 families.[2] The county is subdivided into six districts: the Central District, Beyram District, Evaz District, Banaruiyeh District, Sahray Bagh District, and Juyom District. The county has eight cities: Lar, Beyram, Banaruiyeh, Evaz, Fishvar, Juyom, Khur, and Latifi

The people of Larestan speak Lari.

Under medieval age, Laristan was ruled by the local dynasty of Miladi, until it was removed by a Safavid invasion in 1610. The Miladian rule must have ended earlier than 1610, as stated above because, in 1588, Lariston, was part of the Spanish Empire, under Philip III. At this time, Jerónimo de Quadros was a commander of a string of Portuguese garrisons in Lariston.
