Laurent Piche (born 1985) grew up in the small rural town of La Broquerie in Manitoba, Canada. At a young age, he started his own videography business called "Productions LARE". Over the course of a couple of years, he has produced, directed and edited over 30 weddings, sporting events, commercials as well as a handful of short films, many of which have won numerous prizes in Festivals across Canada and in France. His experience in the industry varies from being a Production Assistant on major motion pictures, AD'ing and Production Coordinating on music videos, shorts and independent features to producing and directing his own films. Laurent's first language is French but is obviously very much bilingual. To this fact, Larry attributes many of his success.
At the age of 17, he also started writing and acting in a French Pre-teen CBC televised show called "Clan Destin". One of the many highlights of Laurent's career came in 2003 when his mock-documentary "Deuxieme enfance" was not only nominated but won both the "Best Picture" and "Public's Choice" awards at the Festival des Videastes in Winnipeg. Just recently, Laurent finished post-production on a television pilot written and co-created by Josh Hatfield, "Educated Guess". It premiered at the Austin Film Festival October 2008.
Shortly after, Laurent launched his new Production Company "Hatchway Entertainment". Further to Producing and Directing his own films, Laurent continues to work on music videos, shorts and features perfecting his craft as an Assistant Director soon to become a member of the Director's Guild of Canada.
