Lee 'CYCLONE' Shone (born Newcastle upon Tyne, England) has competed in traditional martial arts, boxing, vale tudo grappling and mixed martial arts competition. Shone's interest in mixed martial arts stemmed from an incident in which he was stabbed during a street fight.
Shone's first taste of MMA was in 2001 when he travelled to USA and trained at East Coast Submissions Academy. In 2002 he travelled to the USA and became part of Frank Shamrock professional fight team after passing the Shamrock Team Tryout. Shone also trains with Duane Ludwig when in America at Nate Marquardt High Altitude Martial Arts and T's KO Boxing in Denver Colorado. He has also trained with may other top MMA, K1 and Boxing fighters from all over the world.
Shone was managed by ex cruiserweight boxing champion Glenn McCrory and was coached by the Cuban olympic coaches and ex professional boxer Mickey Duncan. Shone's last fight was against Scotland's John Whyte, but shone was stopped at the end of the 2nd round. Whyte from Scotland had over 50 fights at the time of the bout and was also 5 times Scottish champion. Shone retired in 2008 with a fighting record of 13/2/0.
