Lee Webb (newscaster)

Lee Webb is the anchor of The 700 Club, the flagship program of The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), and Newswatch, a half-hour daily news program also on CBN.[1] He was born in Pompano Beach, Florida.[1]

After graduating from Auburn University in 1975, he anchored and reported sports for WSFA-TV in Montgomery, Alabama.[1] He worked as sports anchor for NBC affiliate WCKT (now WSVN) in Miami from 1977 to 1983, again for WCVB-TV in Boston in 1983, and weeknight news anchor for WTLV, the NBC affiliate in Jacksonville in 1986.[1] He helped found Christians in the Media, a fellowship for local journalists, and is an elder in the Presbyterian Church in America.[1]

In addition, he has performed eight years of military service, including deployment to Central America and Operation Desert Shield.[1] He was a captain in the Florida Army National Guard.[1]
