Leeds County, Ontario

Leeds County is a historic county in the Canadian province of Ontario.

The county was created in 1792, and merged with Grenville County in 1850 to create Leeds and Grenville County.

The county took its name from Francis Osborne, 5th Duke of Leeds (The "Leeds" of the Dukedom was named for Leeds in West Yorkshire, England and not for Leeds, Kent, England).

• Elizabethtown (now part of Elizabethtown-Kitley)
• Escott (Front of Escott now part of Leeds and the Thousand Islands, Rear of Escott now part of Athens)
• Kitley (now part of Elizabethtown-Kitley)
• Lansdowne (now part of Leeds and the Thousand Islands)
• Leeds (now part of Leeds and the Thousand Islands)
• North Crosby (now part of Rideau Lakes)
• South Burgess (now part of Rideau Lakes)
• South Crosby (now part of Rideau Lakes)
• South Elmsley (now part of Rideau Lakes)
• Yonge (Front of Yonge still exists, Rear of Yonge (and Escott) now part of Athens)
