Leumeah is a railway station in the south-western suburbs of Sydney and is situated on the Main South Line. It is within the Campbelltown City Council LGA, serving CityRail trains of the South, Cumberland and East Hills lines. It has two side platforms, with an overhead pedestrian bridge. The station is the main access station for Campbelltown Stadium, home of the Wests Tigers Rugby League team and to the Wests Club.[1] It has been in use since 1886.[2] The Southern Sydney Freight Line will pass by the western side of the station.
The station is located directly opposite the main Leumeah shopping centre and has street access to both platforms, connected by a footbridge with stairs and lifts. This allows the station to be classed as having Easy Access for wheelchairs, however the lifts are not open for the whole time that trains operate. As part of the construction work on the Southern Sydney Freight Line, the footbridge will be extended and a third lift constructed. According to the ARTC's website these modifications should have taken place in late 2010, however they have only been partially completed.[3]
