Leyshon (also: Layson, Laysham, Leyson) is an Anglicized form of the Welsh language surname Lleision.

The name originates from Glamorganshire, Wales and dates from the 6th Century Welsh/Brythonic language.
The meaning is unclear. It could mean "Little John," "llai" being the Welsh word for little, "sion" for John[citation needed], or voice/holy or angelic voice.[citation needed]
