A constitutional referendum is to be held in Libya after the country's new constitution has been drawn up by a constituent assembly.[1] A General National Congress was elected in July 2012, charged with organising constituent assembly elections.[2] Once the assembly has drawn up a constitution, it will be put to a referendum, with general elections to follow within six months if approved.[1]
