Life123.com is a general-interest content-based Web site created by Barry Diller's InterActiveCorp.
Its concept came from former creators of Domania.com in concert with Peter Horan, the former CEO of About.com. During his tenure, the NY Times acquired About.com.
The concept behind Life123.com is that Internet users have shown a proclivity to consume their content in different ways than most standard sites have been presenting them, and so Life123.com allows users to view the short version of the site ("Keep it Brief") or the long version ("Learn More") depending on their time preference.
Life123 is created mostly of original content with supplementary information coming from known brands such as EatingWell Magazine, Parenthood.com and [IDG] Publications. The site also draws from other IAC properties, and it is the first in its 10 year history of the company to do so. Other IAC properties contributing content include Match.com, Shoebuy.com, and ServiceMagic.
