Lighthouse Christian Academy was founded in 1997 by a group of Christian parents to provide mutual support and fellowship in educating their children.

In October 2011, there were eight families enrolled in the school.

Lighthouse Christian of La Mirada is a private school created for the mutual benefit of its member families. Its financial goal is to support the necessary and mutually desired activities of its constituents by remaining in the black. This is, and will continue to be, a not for profit venture. All funds will be used in the operation of the school during the current school year, with a minimal carry over of less than $500. The financial income and expenses of the school are reported to the member families twice each year in September and again in June or more often if the need arises.

Lighthouse Christian Academy has no official location. The families are providing the education at their individual homes. The mailing address is located at 15068 Rosecrans Ave. #169 La Mirada, CA 90638.
This school is registered with the State of California as a Private School.
