Lil the Dancer (Kimberly Ann Cole)
Lil the Dancer is a fictional character in the David Lynch movie Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me. The dancer's movements are code; this is an FBI method, devised by Regional Bureau Chief Gordon Cole, to quickly and covertly brief Special Agent Chester Desmond on what to expect during his investigation into the death of Teresa Banks. Lil the Dancer is portrayed by the actress Kimberly Anne Cole.
[edit] Her clues
- If Lil is wearing a sour face, it means that Desmond will have problems with the local authorities; they will not be receptive to the FBI.
- If both of her eyes are blinking, it means that there will be trouble higher up; the eyes of the local authorities.
- If she has one hand in her pocket, local authorities are hiding something.
- If her other hand is made into a fist, the local authorities are likely to be belligerent and aggressive.
- If she is walking on the spot, it means that there will be a lot of leg work involved in the investigation.
- If Cole states that Lil is his "mother's sister's girl", and places four fingers in front of his eyes like prison bars, this suggests that the uncle of the sheriff is in prison.
- If the dress has been tailored (with different-colored thread) to fit Lil, this is a code for drugs; drugs will be involved with the investigation.
- The blue rose is the one element that Desmond refuses to explain to his partner, Special Agent Sam Stanley. In fact, the meaning of the blue rose is never explained in the course of the movie, and is left to the viewer's imagination.
