Lingsugur is a panchayat town in Raichur district in the Indian state of Karnataka. There are many Temples, hills and forts (Quila). The festivals of Muharram and Maha Shivaratri are important here.

Lingsugur is located at 16°10′N 76°31′E / 16.17°N 76.52°E[1]. It has an average elevation of 499 metres (1637 feet).

As of 2001[update] India census[2], Lingsugur had a population of 27,301. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Lingsugur has an average literacy rate of 55%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 65%, and female literacy is 45%. In Lingsugur, 16% of the population is under 6 years of age.
