Linguistic and Intercultural Preparation of Students for the workplace (LIPS) is a European Commission-funded project. It has developed pilot measures to improve students' skills and competences for their successful completion of work experiences abroad (for example in an internship).
LIPS developed an online course which is based on key communicative situations; e.g. the first face-to-face meeting with the employer. In the course, Web 2.0 tools like podcasts and blogs are used. To create more awareness interactive video modules allow for a better visualisation and emotional impact.
Target Groups
- Students in Business Studies and related subjects
- Supervisors and in-service-trainers in companies
- Counselors and language teachers at universities
Main results of the project:
- Online course and learning materials for linguistic and intercultural training
- Orientation guideline for students
- Guideline for employers of international students
