Below is a numerical representation of the Astro channel line-up, grouped by respective packages of the channels.

[edit] Technical aspects

Astro renumbered its channel numbers to the 3-digit format completely to serve its expanding number of channels. The following channel line-up took effect on 6.00 am, October 3, 2007.^[1] Around 2008, a decoder software update included a sort of ceiling function that directs channels picked up from remote control to the next highest valid channel, if the input channel is not available. Another notable update was the delay function, which holds the partially filled channel display for a longer time until all three digits are pressed. These updates are only available for 2nd generation and 3rd generation decoders and not for 4th generation decoders as of November 2011.

In addition to the channels listed below, Astro occasionally uses temporary channels for various purposes, such as promotions (e.g. Astro Fiesta on channels 808 and 809 from December 2008 until January 2009) and channel announcements. The Astro Supersport channel has special versions during special events such as 2006 FIFA World Cup, 2008 Thomas & Uber Cup, 2008 Summer Olympics, 2010 Thomas & Uber Cup, 2010 FIFA World Cup, 2010 Commonwealth Games, 2010 Asian Games, 2011 Southeast Asian Games and 2012 Summer Olympics.

Channels highlighted with this colour are only available to Astro B.yond subscribers and inaccessible to standard subscribers.

[edit] Family Package

These channels are included with every Astro subscription, and choosing this package only gives the least monthly subscription. Most of Astro's channel offerings screen repeated contents.
Note that "Preview channels" (formerly known as "Free view channels") are included in this list, since they are also included with every subscription of Astro but for a certain time period, which will be transferred to its relevant package after that. (Refer to ^{[N 1]})
