2004 Was a year of 'feats' for Australian television ratings:

  • The Seven Networks worst-ever share result in all markets and in the combined 5-City share.
  • For the first time since the introduction of 'People Meters' in 1991; Seven finished third behind Ten in the markets of Melbourne and Adelaide.
  • The Nine Network (Despite huge win) experienced its lowest ever 5-City share; the first time below the 30% mark. It experienced lowest ever shares in the markets of Sydney and Adelaide.
  • The Ten Network experienced its best ever 5-City share since the introduction of 'People Meters'; experienced best ever shares in the markets of Sydney, Melbourne (finishing 2nd overall), Brisbane and Adelaide (finishing 2nd overall).
  • The ABC experienced its best ever 5-City share and also best ever shares in all of the capital markets.
