Britney Spears is an American recording artist. Her debut studio album ...Baby One More Time was released by Jive Records in 1999. The album spawned worldwide hits such as ...Baby One More Time, Sometimes and Born To Make You Happy while the album became a worldwide commercial success selling over 26 million copies. Spears nabbed two grammy nominations for the Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance categories in 2000. She won her first Grammy award in 2005 for her worldwide hit single Toxic in the Best Dance Recording category. In total, She has been nominated for 8 Grammy with one win. Spears has also been nominated for 29 MTV Video Music Awards winning 6 wins. In addition, She received the MTV Video Vanguard Award in 2011 for her iconic stage performances and breath taking music videos. Spears is the female artist with the most Teen Choice Awards surfboards with 16 collected in her 12 year career. Her worldwide sales span over 100 million records (1999-2009). This accolade gives Spears the title of "#1 female artist of the decade" between the years 2000 and 2009. She's also the most awarded artist of the 2000's decade with over 450 nominations and wins in several worldwide awards.
