Caprica is an American science fiction television series. It is a spin-off/prequel to the Syfy channel's series Battlestar Galactica which ran from 2003 to 2009. Set 58 years before the events seen in Battlestar Galactica, Caprica depicts life in Colonial society and shows how humanity first created the robotic Cylons who would later plot to destroy the human race.

The pilot episode for the series was released on DVD on April 21, 2009,[1] several months prior to its television premiere. The first nine episodes of the series (including the pilot) aired from January 22, 2010 to March 26, 2010. The second part of season one began on October 5, 2010;[2][3] however, due to lackluster ratings, Syfy announced that they had cancelled the series on October 27, 2010.[4] Syfy then postponed the airing of the final five episodes of the series until 2011, but the Canadian TV channel Space continued to air these episodes ahead of Syfy, with the final episode airing in Canada on November 30, 2010. The remaining episodes were released on DVD on December 21, 2010[5] and aired on Syfy in a burn off marathon from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm Eastern on January 4, 2011.[6]

1 "Pilot" Jeffrey Reiner Remi Aubuchon & Ronald D. Moore January 22, 2010 (2010-01-22) (Syfy) 1.602[7]
The planet Caprica is one of the Twelve Colonies of Humanity. Zoe Graystone, rebellious teenage daughter of wealthy Caprican computer engineer Daniel Graystone, plans to leave her home world to go to the neighboring planet of Gemenon. She is accompanied by her boyfriend, Ben, and her best friend, Lacy, and (unbeknown to Zoe's parents) all three are members of the religious cult "Soldiers of the One" (STO), an organization that dismisses the Colonies' general belief in polytheistic religion (belief in several gods, namely the Lords of Kobol) in favor of monotheistic religion (belief in one god). Lacy changes her mind at the last minute and stays behind just as Zoe and Ben board a train. However, once on board, Ben reveals that he is wearing a suicide bomber jacket which he detonates as an act of terrorism in the name of his god, killing himself, Zoe and many other passengers. Struggling to come to terms with the loss of his child, Daniel discovers that Zoe had created a sentient "avatar" (a virtual/digital clone) of herself that exists in a computerized virtual reality world that can be accessed via the Holoband. He reaches out to another bereaved parent, Joseph Adama, a lawyer with ties to the Tauron Ha'la'tha crime syndicate, and offers to create a clone of Joseph's daughter, Tamara, in exchange for the theft of a piece of computer hardware from one of Graystone's competitors. Joseph agrees and this component allows Daniel to complete a prototype robot called a Cylon, which is a machine of considerable strength and agility that is capable of carrying out any instructions given to it. Although the Cylon is not a sentient, free-thinking creation, it has an artificial intelligence and possesses the ability to learn. After an impressive demonstration of its combat skills, Daniel's company is given a major contract by the Caprican government to mass produce the Cylons for military use. Daniel also attempts to resurrect his daughter Zoe by combining the virtual copy of her with the Cylon's artificial body, but the experiment seems to result not only in failure but the ultimate loss of the avatar. However, unbeknown to Daniel, Zoe's virtual self now inhabits the Cylon's body thus making it a sentient being.
2 "Rebirth" Jonas Pate Mark Verheiden January 29, 2010 (2010-01-29) (Syfy) 1.411[7]
Zoe's avatar tells nobody that she now inhabits the Cylon's body, except for Lacy. The two can communicate in both the real world (where Zoe inhabits the Cylon's body) and in the virtual reality "V World" when Lacy wears a holoband. Lacy is also approached by Sister Clarice Willow, the head of Zoe and Lacy's school and also a member of the Soldiers of the One cult, who takes a special interest in her. Daniel resigns himself to Zoe's death and turns his attention back to the mass-production of the robotic soldiers. Frustratingly, the original Cylon exceeds the intelligence requirements but exhibits intermittent erratic behavior, whereas what should be exact copies of the prototype fall short of the requirements, suggesting to him that there must be something special about the original machine. Meanwhile, Zoe's mother, Amanda, discovers that her daughter had links to the fanatical Soldiers of The One cult, jumps to the conclusion that Zoe must have been the suicide bomber, and makes an inflammatory public statement to that effect.
3 "Reins of a Waterfall" Ronald D. Moore Michael Angeli February 5, 2010 (2010-02-05) (Syfy) 1.128[7]
The Graystones face the wrath of angered Capricans after Amanda's revelation, culminating in a violent altercation between Daniel and Joseph Adama. Joseph's surviving son William feels abandoned by his father and drifts more and more into the Ha'la'tha milieu, encouraged by his uncle Sam. Meanwhile, Zoe discovers Tamara's avatar in a virtual holding area and releases her into the wider "V-world", which consists of both "licensed" (legal and regulated) and "hacked" (illegal and anything-goes) sites.

As public outrage keeps mounting, Daniel and Amanda let themselves be persuaded to appear on television and tell their side of the story. They succeed in reclaiming a measure of sympathy, even to the extent of unwittingly dissuading Joseph Adama from carrying out his intention of having Amanda assassinated to "balance the scales". Agent Duram of the Global Defense Department finally obtains permission to search both the Graystone residence and Zoe's former school, hoping to uncover evidence regarding the recent and possible future religiously motivated bombings. Headmistress Sister Clarice passes a warning to STO members in time for Keon to remove bomb materials. Lacy Rand tries to get help from Keon's STO cell to smuggle Zoe in the Cylon to Gemenon.
5 "There Is Another Sky" Michael Nankin Kath Lingenfelter February 26, 2010 (2010-02-26) (Syfy) 1.127[7]
Tamara wanders through V-world, discovers she cannot be killed, and is led by Heracles, a young gamer, to New Cap City, a virtual version of Caprica City where violence and crime abound. After defeating a group of elite gamers and learning she is dead in real life, Tamara persuades Heracles to log out and alert her father that she is still alive. He arrives at the Adama residence just as family and friends gather for a Tauron memorial service to let go of their grief and move on with their lives. Daniel Graystone is faced with the realization that the very steps he took to salvage his public image may in turn cost him control of Graystone Industries. He declares holoband technology no longer relevant and uses the Cylon prototype to convince his board to give him one last chance to save the company.

March 5, 2010 (2010-03-05) (Syfy) 1.155[8]
Rival Tauron industrialist Tomas Vergis arrives on Caprica demanding a meeting with Daniel, threatening to reveal proof that Daniel stole the chip that is key to the U-87 Cylon and Graystone's military contract. Vergis whirls up a publicity storm that steals the heart of the Caprican public, and makes a surprise offer that could save Graystone Industries. But there's a catch to his proposal that could haunt Daniel for years to come. Daniel confronts Joseph concerning the threat from Vergis and demands to know how Vergis found out his role in the theft. Joseph worries of retribution from the Guatrau towards the Adama family. Clarice, panicked that off-world STO leadership has been backing a rogue named Barnabas Greeley (James Marsters), who is involved in terrorist bombings of holoband cafes as a protest of decadent events in the holoband world, steps up her plans to acquire Zoe's avatar program through befriending Amanda. Meanwhile, wanting to fulfill her own promise to Zoe, Lacy goes with Keon to meet the enigmatic Barnabas, opening herself up to a new world of danger. After the revelation that the avatar of his daughter Tamara is still lost in the holoband world, Joseph starts his quest to find her in a virtual world he knows nothing about.
7 "The Imperfections of Memory" Wayne Rose Matthew B. Roberts March 12, 2010 (2010-03-12) (Syfy) 1.071[9]
Still seeking Zoe's Avatar program, Clarice redoubles her efforts to gain Amanda Graystone's confidence in order to find it. Amanda, meanwhile, has been literally haunted by visions of her brother Darius, who died in a car crash several years ago. Zoe develops her strategic romance with Philomon, the young scientist in her father's employ, in hopes that he'll be a part of her plan in transporting the robot body to Gemenon. Lacy's attempts to enlist the help of Barnabas for this enterprise have fallen short, producing tension between her and Zoe. In his quest to find his daughter, Joseph Adama corners Heracles, the boy who introduced Tamara Adama to the game New Cap City, and convinces him to help find his daughter. They both enter the game, but Heracles is soon "killed," meaning that he can never return to that virtual world and that Joseph is on his own in his search. Joseph later meets and hires the mysterious Emmanuelle as a guide. Rival industrialist Tomas Vergis meets with Daniel and informs him of the rumor that Daniel's company only has one working MCP (the component Daniel had stolen from Vergis to complete the Cylon) in their possession. He further attempts to pressure Daniel by telling him that he knows that the MCP never worked. Daniel, however, sees this as an advantage - if the MCP didn't work for Vergis, but does work for him, it will seem as proof that the MCP is a Graystone Industries creation and not a Vergis one. Daniel now also suspects that Zoe's avatar, through the MCP, is inhabiting the Cylon.
8 "Ghosts in the Machine" Wayne Rose Michael Taylor March 19, 2010 (2010-03-19) (Syfy) 1.229[10]
Joseph and Emmanuelle seek Tamara at the New Cap equivalent of the Adama home, but the apartment is inhabited by a drug addict - an "amphead". As the druggie yields the information that Joseph's daughter is at a club called "Mysteries," a gang of drug dealers bust in on the scene and threaten to end Adama's New Cap life. Feigning innocence, Emmanuelle claims not to know Adama, and as the gangsters are focused on Joseph, deftly takes out the whole team with her pistol. Joseph is relieved, but she berates him for freezing up - if he can't pull the trigger when he needs to, he'll never be able to help his daughter. Amanda, still troubled by visions of her long-dead brother, returns to the scene of the fatal crash in an attempt to unravel the mystery, only to see an even more vivid apparition of her brother driving away. Later, as Amanda unburdens her heart to Clarice, the teacher deepens her plot to find Zoe's avatar by manipulating Amanda to fixate on her dead daughter. Tomas Vergis tells Amanda about the theft and his two dead employees. As Daniel's desperation increases, so do his methods. Playing on Zoe's traumatic fear of fire, he commands the U-87 to stand still as he constructs a blazing pyre around her. She can end the torture and reveal her presence by simply walking out. Although Zoe is agonized by her terrifying memories and the current distress her father is inflicting, she does not reveal herself. Later in V-world, Zoe pleads with Lacy to find a way to get her off of Caprica before she harms Daniel due to the nature of his 'tests'.
9 "End of Line" Roxann Dawson Michael Taylor March 26, 2010 (2010-03-26) (Syfy) 1.103[11]
In a flash forward, the U-87 cylon is driving a stolen van with armed police in pursuit. But what brought Zoe Graystone's avatar to such a desperate action? Rewinding the clock, we learn that Daniel's financial troubles are worsening, and he must sell the Buccaneers to his rival, Tomas Vergis. The army knows the chip was stolen, and have given him a week to finish the project. Daniel orders Philo to irradiate the chip in order to mass produce copies without errors. Unbeknownst to Daniel, the military is discussing a contract with Vergis. Philo reluctantly undertakes his orders, but just as he does, Zoe reveals her identity. Terrified, he triggers the security alarm. Zoe rushes to stop him, but her inhuman strength accidentally kills him. Distraught, she steals a van and speeds away from the lab. Lacy, meanwhile, flies to Barnabas to push the shipment forward, and discovers that he is about to detonate a bomb - that Lacy unwittingly planted - in Clarice's car. Lacy tries to stop the assassination, but Barnabas threatens her and Keon's lives if she doesn't remotely detonate the bomb. Clarice and one of her husbands, on their way to the spaceport to catch a flight to Gemenon and meet with STO leadership, are ensnared in traffic at the Pantheon Bridge. Clarice spots Amanda preparing to kill herself, and leaves the car to see what's going on. Just as she does, Lacy tearfully detonates the bomb, but Barnabas's plot has failed. The stolen van approaches a heavily armed roadblock. Frightened and alone, Zoe comes briefly to a halt, then slams through the barricade, destroying the van. Joseph finally finds his daughter's avatar with the help of Emmanuelle. Tamara shoots herself and then her father so that he can't come back to New Cap City and he is forced to come to terms with the fact that she is gone. Amanda steps off the bridge as the episode closes.
10 "Unvanquished" Eric Stoltz Ryan Mottesheard October 5, 2010 (2010-10-05) (Syfy) 0.889[12]
Three weeks have passed and Daniel Graystone seeks a business partnership with the Ha'la'tha crime syndicate in order to regain control of Graystone Industries, now run by Tomas Vergis who has begun mass production of Cylons for the Caprican Ministry of Defense. Zoe, no longer in the Cylon prototype body damaged in the crash weeks earlier, now exists solely in the V-World where both she and Tamara are known as "deathwalkers" (players who cannot be killed). At a Pyramid match between the Caprica Buccaneers and the Gemenon Twins, followers of the One True God place detonators under their seats. Clarice Willow observes the stadium explode. The scenario is revealed to be a simulation illustrating her proposal to the leaders of the monotheist church on Gemenon to convince them of her plan for "Apotheosis". Using the avatar program created by Zoe Graystone, Clarice wants to create a virtual heaven which allows followers of the One True God to sacrifice themselves in the real world but live forever in the virtual world. One of the leaders, Obal Ferras, is against the plan and convinces the Blessed Mother, the leader of the monotheist church, to have Clarice killed. However, the monotheists turn against Obal and kill him instead. The Blessed Mother gives Clarice total authority over all STO cells on Caprica. On Caprica, Daniel Graystone makes a deal with the Ha'la'tha while Cyrus Xander ignores an order from Vergis to destroy the prototype. Graystone leaves video messages for his wife; in a quiet cabin in the woods Amanda Graystone is alive and well in the care of Clarice, recuperating from her fall from the bridge several weeks earlier.
11 "Retribution" Jonas Pate Patrick Massett & John Zinman October 12, 2010 (2010-10-12) (Syfy) 0.840[13]
Daniel Graystone is preparing to reclaim his company, and does so by having Sam and Joseph Adama ready evidence to blackmail the board members of Graystone Industries into voting for him back into power. Amanda Graystone, through flashback, remembers how she survived her suicide attempt on the bridge and, in the hospital, denied her husband entrance to see her. She starts to carry around a loaded gun, after Agent Duram questions her about Sister Clarice and whether or not she was the one that inducted Zoe into STO in the first place. Near the end, she comes close to killing Clarice, but decides against it when Clarice claims that Amanda is the only one she can talk to. Lacy, Keon, and two other STO agents botch an attack on a spaceport after Lacy is caught. When fleeing the scene in a vehicle, Lacy is yelled at by another agent and then she demands to be let out of the car. Clarice kills the two STO agents who betrayed her by joining Barnabas' side. Barnabas suspects Lacy to be a spy for Clarice, and when Keon attempts to leave their hideout, Barnabas kills him. At that moment, Clarice and an STO agent arrive at Barnabas' hideout where they are able to disarm Barnabas and then Clarice handcuffs him to a table and rigs a bomb to explode. They take Lacy and leave. Outside, Clarice detonates the bomb by remote, killing Barnabas. Lacy asks Clarice if she is going to kill her, and she replies "I hope not." They get in the car and drive away.
12 "Things We Lock Away" Tim Hunter Drew Z. Greenberg October 19, 2010 (2010-10-19) (Syfy) 0.718[14]
Daniel is reinstated as CEO of his company by a unanimous vote but he is advised by Joseph Adama that Vergis will keep coming after him unless he is killed. Daniel refuses and proposes negotiating with Vergis, inviting him to his home. There, Vergis tells Daniel that he will not be able to leave Caprica alive and he demands that Daniel kill him himself. Vergis offers Daniel a traditional family dagger but Daniel refuses to kill Vergis and tries again to negotiate. Daniel proposes that they join together and take down the Ha'la'tha themselves. At first, Vergis seems to agree but at the last moment forces Daniel to plunge the dagger into his chest. Vergis dies in Daniel's arms and Graystone calls Joseph Adama to arrange for a "clean up". In New Cap City, the Zoe avatar walks into a gladiatorial arena and demands to see the other Death Walker (Tamara) who now controls the entire city. Tamara appears and shoots Zoe, seeking revenge for the murder of her family and her real-world self and is joined by several others in arena who beat Zoe mercilessly. At the urging of a hallucination of herself which only she can see (seemingly like the visions which appeared to Gaius Baltar and the reborn Caprica-Six) Zoe accepts that she is not the same person as the original Zoe and fights back. Gaining the upper hand on Tamara, Zoe convinces her that New Cap City is beneath her and that she (Zoe) has a purpose which she thinks Tamara can help her with. The two are seen leaving the arena hand-in-hand. Zoe also remembers being visited by an invisible version of herself since she was a small child and that this vision saved her from the house fire. Also in the flashback, Daniel copies the design of the Cylon from Zoe's childhood drawings and Zoe creates the virtual avatar for the first time. Meanwhile, Lacy is being held captive in Clarice Willow's attic. When Clarice finally visits, she asks Lacy to reveal where Zoe's avatar program is. Lacy tells her it was destroyed with the prototype Cylon. Clarice insists that there must be a backup of Zoe's program and Lacy concludes that it may be hidden in Zoe's gold infinity-symbol pin. Over her protests, Clarice informs Lacy that she will be sent to an STO training program on Gemenon. While being taken out of the house, Olaf Willow says Lacy will be back and that he will be waiting. Meanwhile, back at the cabin, Amanda Graystone has been unable to find any incriminating evidence against Clarice. Agent Duram instructs her to infiltrate Clarice's home but Clarice refuses her request to go home with her. As they are parting the cabin, Amanda notices Clarice's holoband. Amanda returns to her own house where Clarice visits and tries to convince her to ask the police to return Zoe's belongings (so that she can acquire the backup of the avatar program). Clarice relents and permits Amanda to stay with her; Amanda arrives at the Adnan household and is introduced to the extended family.
13 "False Labor" John Dahl Michael Taylor October 26, 2010 (2010-10-26) (Syfy) 0.843[15]
While Daniel Graystone is forced to rush his development of his resurrection program for commercial use, a number of Cylons that are meant for the Caprican Ministry of Defense contract are mysteriously being smuggled out of Daniel's company. Amanda continues to infiltrate Clarice's family so she can spy on her. Sam and one of his Ha'la'tha colleagues take a risk by smuggling guns to Tauron to help a rebel cause there, but a rival gang finds out and they kill Sam's colleague. Later, Sam uses a Cylon to wipe out the rival gang, but is upset the Guatrau refuses to send Cylons to assist the rebellion on Tauron. Instead, the Guatrau is secretly selling the stolen Cylons from Graystone Industries to the STO on Gemenon.
14 "Blowback" Omar Madha Kevin Murphy November 2, 2010 (2010-11-02) (Space) N/A
Daniel Graystone is given two weeks to complete his resurrection program by the Guatrau, who secretly orders Sam Adama to kill Daniel after the program is finished. When the STO jumpship transporting Lacy is hijacked she violently assaults one of the hijackers, only to learn that the hijacking was actually an STO test that she passed when she launched her assault. Captain Jordan Duram becomes suspicious of his superior, Gara Singh, and falsely identifies Willow's wife Mar-Beth as the GDD informant in Sister Clarice Willow's home. Singh tells Clarice of this and she murders Mar-Beth. When the body is found, it is confirmation to Duram that Singh is an STO mole inside the GDD. Zoe's gold infinity-symbol pin, stored in a Global Defense Department evidence room, is delivered to Clarice; the pin is actually a digital storage device and contains a backup copy of the avatar program. Sam discovers that the Guatrau has been secretly selling Cylons to the STO. On Gemenon, Lacy watches as a Cylon executes two of the new STO recruits for failing the test of their faith during the staged hijacking of the STO ship.
15 "The Dirteaters" John Dahl Matthew B. Roberts November 9, 2010 (2010-11-09) (Space) N/A
In a flashback to the first Tauron Uprising thirty years ago, "Herac" troops storm the Adama home to investigate the murder of a Herac soldier. When a gun stolen by young Sam is found on the premises, William Adama Sr. is brutally beaten; in another room the same is done to his wife, who is then executed. Joseph and Sam watch the proceedings from a hidden wall compartment until Joseph gets the chance to kill or disable the soldiers in the house. A dying William asks Joseph to shoot him, in keeping with the Tauron way of choosing one's death whenever able, and Joseph complies. In the present, the two brothers decide they will kill the Guatrau and take over the Ha’la’tha. Daniel discovers that the CEO of every corporation connected to the Ha'la'tha later ends up dead. Realizing it is only a matter of time before he is killed himself, he makes a deal with Sam: in exchange for Daniel sending Cylons to Tauron, Sam will spare Daniel's life. Zoe and Tamara, now known as "The Avenging Angels" in V-World, have teamed up to rid New Cap City of its corruption, and begin to reconfigure the game from within. Fearing he will now be exposed after being tricked, Gara Singh manages to get Jordan Duram suspended from the Global Defense Department pending an internal affairs investigation into Mar-Beth's death.
16 "The Heavens Will Rise" Michael Nankin Michael Taylor November 16, 2010 (2010-11-16) (Space) N/A
Amanda and Daniel Graystone decide to search for Zoe in V-World. Daniel goes into New Cap City, which has now been changed by Zoe and Tamara from a grim dark city into a lush green paradise. However, Tamara mysteriously "derezes" from their location and re-appears in a black virtual room that is still in V-World but outside of the game. She was brought there by Daniel who has found a way to manipulate their virtual environment. He asks Tamara to tell Zoe he wants to talk to her, but Zoe then appears in the room and stabs Daniel's virtual self, thus derezing him. Although in New Cap City, when a person "dies" he cannot return to the game, Daniel was "stabbed" outside of the game and can therefore still return to it. Realizing that Zoe is still angry at him, he vows to find a way to talk to his daughter without getting "killed". Knowing that Joseph cannot go back to New Cap City (since Tamara shot him earlier), Daniel asks Sam to go in with him as his guard and to speak to Tamara. At first Sam refuses, but after seeing a T-shirt of the Avenging Angels (including an image of Tamara), he decides to go in, never telling Daniel it is so he can eliminate the Tamara avatar and save his brother any more grief. On Gemenon, Lacy watches in horror as an STO soldier orders a Cylon to shoot a young recruit who fails to salute. She runs out and yells for the robot to stop. Surprisingly, the Cylon obeys her and says "By your command", ultimately disregarding its orders from the STO soldier in favor of its order from Lacy. Unable to explain why the Cylon responds to her, Lacy goes to the storage area where a squad of Cylons are kept in standby mode. She orders them to activate, and they obey her. When she asks one of them if it is Zoe, it does not reply. She then asks the Cylon to raise its hand in the air if it is Zoe, which is does, but as Lacy is walking away, all of the Cylons raise their hands in a similar fashion. Meanwhile, the Blessed Mother becomes aware of Lacy's power over the Cylons and suggests that she be killed. Back on Caprica, Amanda tells Daniel that she is a mole in Sister Clarice's house and then meets Duram - who wanted Amanda to switch Clarice's holoband so he can find out what is on it. After she does switch it, they meet again and argue. As Amanda walks away, Duram is shot by an unseen marksman. Amanda phones for help to save his life, but cannot find Clarice's holoband which Duram dropped when he was shot. Meanwhile, Clarice and two of her husbands learn that Clarice's holoband at home has been switched for a copy. They realize that it was Amanda who was the spy in their house, and not Mar-Beth. In the final scene, Sam, Amanda and Daniel are traveling through the forest of Zoe and Tamara's newly created New Cap City environment, where Zoe awaits them.
17 "Here Be Dragons" Michael Nankin Patrick Massett & John Zinman November 23, 2010 (2010-11-23) (Space) N/A
The Graystones reunite with Zoe in V-World as Clarice and two of her husbands break into the Graystone residence in the real world, planning to kill the Graystones and retrieve the holoband. However, they are delayed when security doors seal Daniel's lab with Amanda and Daniel inside. Fearing they are becoming too powerful and unwilling to follow him any longer, the Guatrau attempts to kill the Adama brothers and, after a brief but violent struggle in Sam's bar involving Sam and Joseph and a number of the Guatrau's men, William Adama is fatally wounded by a gunshot. The STO order the death of Lacy, only to have the trainees revolt and turn the tables on them. Lacy then leads her Cylon army. Clarice and her two husbands finally gain access to the Graystone's basement laboratory and hold Amanda and Daniel at gunpoint. Just as Clarice is about to kill Daniel, the original Zoe U-87 Cylon (which had been dormant in Daniel's lab for weeks after it was in the crash) comes alive. It kills one of Clarice's husbands and then identifies itself as Zoe to Clarice, at which point Clarice and her other husband flee.
18 "Apotheosis" Jonas Pate Kevin Murphy & Jane Espenson November 30, 2010 (2010-11-30) (Space) N/A
Clarice attempts her master plan to achieve apotheosis. In the aftermath of her failed attempt to kill the Graystones and retrieve her holoband, GDD Director Gara Singh approaches Clarice and tells her who he is at the GDD and in V-world. Singh informs Clarice that he's going to slow down the Graystones by falsely telling the world that they are the terrorists that put Zoe up to the Maglev train bombing. He then arranges to have the Graystones arrested at their residence, but they manage to escape with the help of Cyrus who is prepared to sacrifice his life for his best friend Daniel. The Graystones then use Daniel's heli-jet plane and fly into the city and find Clarice's holoband. They land in the park where Amanda last met Duram and find the holoband on the ground near to where he was shot. Daniel puts the band on and learns the details of the STO plan to blow up the arena and resurrect the STO terrorists in V-world. Daniel realizes that the avatar program created by Zoe is a recruiting tool for the STO's plan. The Graystones immediately embark on trying to foil the plan in a race against time whilst being pursued by the GDD. With help from a technically skilled co-worker with access to Graystone Industries HQ, Daniel is able to equip a laptop to wirelessly control all Cylons within the vicinity. Daniel then has three squads of Cylon Marines dropped into the arena by heli-jet. The final battle is a race between the Cylons targeting the terrorists in the arena, Daniel being discovered by the GDD, and the STO carrying out their plan to blow up the arena at the end of the Caprican anthem. The Cylons manage to eliminate all but one of the STO terrorists in time, with the remaining suicide bomber causing only slight damage in a limited portion of the arena. Zoe's avatar destroys the virtual heaven, reflected in hardware failures in the real world. Clarice's plan has failed. Scenes from the near future of Caprica are then depicted, where a new era has dawned. Cylons have become integrated into society, rebuilding the part of the arena that was damaged and performing the jobs that humanity no longer wants. Humanity is thankful, even constructing a monument to the Cylons who stopped the Atlas Arena attack, however the Cylons are still thought of by most as merely tools. Joseph and Evelyn Adama are revealed to have a new son, Bill, who is named after the deceased William in line with Tauron tradition. Despite their foiled plan, the STO remain active. On Gemenon, Lacy Rand has assumed the position of the Blessed Mother, while Clarice Willow has escaped justice for her terrorist activities and begins to preach directly to the Cylons, reinforcing the STO concept that becomes the monotheistic Cylon God. In a virtual church, she tells them that they are God's children, that they are equals with humanity, and that they can become more. She then speaks of the one that loves them all and tells of a prophecy that their belief in God will allow them to crush those who gave them life. A virtual copy of Zoe is in the audience. Finally, a scene is shown of Daniel and Amanda Graystone finally completing a human-looking "skin job" body for their daughter's avatar. Zoe Graystone is then seen rising from a small pool similar to the Cylon resurrection tanks from the Battlestar Galactica series, essentially having been "reborn" in the real world.
