The following is a list of persons who served as Governor of the Northern Mariana Islands. The term of office was 4 years running from January of even years. The term will be 5 years from January 2010 to 2015 to transition, the term to run 4 years in odd years.

As of September 2009[update], four former governors were alive, the oldest being Pedro Tenorio (1982-1990, 1998–2002; born 1934). The most recent governor to die was Lorenzo I. De Leon Guerrero (1990–1994), on October 6, 2006. Guerrero was also the most recently-serving governor to die.
