In 2002, Phil Collins was the recipient of a Disney Legend Award, an award given to those who made an outstanding contribution to The Walt Disney Company. He holds the record for shortest time between his first contribution (1996, when he first started to write the music for Tarzan) and being named a Disney Legend (2002).
