The teachings of the Sikh Gurus have been recorded in the form of hymns in Guru Granth Sahib, the holy scripture of the Sikhs, which is written in poetic form.
The Gurus whose Bani form a part of Guru Granth Sahib include:
Guru Gobind Singh was a prolific writer, and is believed to have written many baanis which Sikhs read religiously everyday, like Jaap Sahib, Sawayya and Benti Chaupai.
