There is a total of 456 such properties in the county, including 25 that are designated as National Historic Landmarks. The municipalities of Andover, Gloucester, Ipswich, Lawrence, Lynn, Methuen, and Salem are the locations of 51, 33, 31, 23, 25, 44, and 45 properties respectively; they are listed separately from the 206 listed here. One property is split between Methuen and Lawrence, and another between Lynn and Nahant; these entries appear on more than one list.
