A Coast Guard Air Station provides aviation support for the United States Coast Guard. The Coast Guard operates approximately 210 aircraft from 24 Coast Guard Air Stations in the United States. Fixed-wing aircraft, such as the HC 130 Hercules built for long range missions operate from air stations. HH-65 Dolphin and Sikorsky HH-60 Jayhawk helicopters also operate from Air Stations, Air Facilities and flight deck equipped cutters.

Early Air Stations

• The first Coast Guard Air Station was established in 1920 at Camp Glenn, Morehead City, North Carolina
• 1925 in Gloucester, Massachusetts, as Coast Guard Air Station Gloucester
• 1935 in Salem, Massachusetts, as Coast Guard Air Station Salem
• Biloxi, Mississippi between 1933 and 1947
• Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn, New York in 1936

First District

• CGAS Cape Cod, Massachusetts: This air station is located on the Otis Air National Guard Base. They fly HH-60J Jayhawk helicopters and HU-25 "Falcon" jets, HC-144 Ocean Sentry aircraft and provide coverage from the Canadian border to Long Island, New York.

Fifth District

• CGAS Atlantic City, New Jersey: This air station is located at Atlantic City International Airport in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey and provides aircrews and aircraft to the Washington, D.C. area as part of Operation Noble Eagle, a Department of Defense (NORAD) mission to protect the air space around the nation's capital.
• CGAS Elizabeth City, North Carolina: This is both an operational and a training air station. Enlisted Coast Guardsmen in aviation ratings are taught at its Aviation Technical Training Center.

• CGAS Clearwater, Florida
• CGAS Miami, Florida
• CGAS Savannah, Georgia
• CGAS Borinquen, Aguadilla, Puerto Rico

Eighth District

• CGAS Houston, Texas
• CGAS Corpus Christi, Texas
• CGAS New Orleans, Louisiana
• Coast Guard Aviation Training Center, Mobile, Alabama: This is both an operational and a training air station. Besides performing operational missions, Coast Guard Aviators (pilots) receive flight training on the HC-144A, HH-65, HH-60, and HU-25 aircraft.

Eleventh District

• CGAS Humboldt Bay, California
• CGAS Sacramento, California: McClellan AFB
• CGAS San Francisco, California
• CGAS Los Angeles, California: This air station was established in 1962 located adjacent to the North runway complex of Los Angeles International Airport where 3 HH-65 Dolphin Helicopters are parked in hangars. In case of emergency, the Los Angeles County Fire Department Ocean Lifeguard will put in a call to request distress or rescue response anywhere in the waters of southern California.
