This is a list of disability rights organizations. Although the disability rights movement itself began in the 1960s, advocacy for the rights of people with disabilities did exist before that, and so the list of notable organizations has been expanded to reflect that.
- American Disabled for Attendant Programs Today (ADAPT) (1978) – was organized by the Atlantis Community and primarily serves the physically disabled and focuses on advocating for rights and services.[1]

- American Association of People with Disabilities (1995) – a cross-disability organization that focuses on advocacy and services.

- Autistic Self Advocacy Network (2006) - an international organization that provides support, services, and public policy advocacy for those on the Autism spectrum while working to improve the public perception of Autism and related conditions. It is run by Autistic people, and was founded by Autistic self-advocates Ari Ne'eman and Scott Robertson.
