There have been many famous modern circuses since the first modern circus was staged by Philip Astley in London on January 9, 1768. Some of them are better known by the name of their principal owner. The following is an alphabetical list of both circuses and owners. For more information on circuses in general see Circus, or for information regarding the ancient Roman circus, see Circus Maximus.

Russells International Circus (UK) www.russellscircus.co.uk Jump to: navigation, search

Russell's International Circus, is one of the newest Circuses in the UK, it is the brainchild of Famous Circus clown Rusty Russell the circus first opened in 2005 as an all human circus with a modern perspective, the show grew from strength to strength and by 2010 was voted the best circus in the UK this was then repeated on 2 separate forums in 2011. Rusty Russell had worked on a great many TV shows and circuses around the world so the experience gained through this made it much easier to produce a show like nothing that had been seen in the UK before, he then married long term sweetheart Amanda Russell from the famous Hoffman circus Dynasty, this combination proved unstoppable, the show travelled the world, pushing the boundaries still further, and became the first Western circus to open in South Korea. Russell's International Circus is still touring the UK and makes a regular Summer season on the East coast town of Mablethorpe the home town of Rusty Russell. booking line : +447752218805 website : www.russellscircus.co.uk
