List of future Intel microprocessors
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected from List of future Intel Core 2 microprocessors)
This is a list of upcoming microprocessors designed by Intel.

[edit] Desktop Processors
[edit] "Sandy Bridge" (32 nm)
- All models support: MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSSE3, SSE4.1, SSE4.2, AVX, Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology (EIST), Intel 64, XD bit (an NX bit implementation), Intel VT-x, Turbo Boost, AES-NI, Smart Cache, vPro..[1]
- K processors have unlocked turbo multiplier and are designed for overclocking. Other processors will have limited turbo overclocking on a P67 chipset.[2]
- P processors are lacking the built-in GPU, as does the 2550K
- Listed processors don't have Intel VT-d and TXT technologies support.
- Transistors: 1,16 billion
- Die size: 216 mm²

[edit] "Sandy Bridge-E" (32 nm)
- Based on Sandy Bridge microarchitecture.
- Intel has announced that the K processors will not be shipped with a stock cooler since they have recognized that these processors are subjects for overclockers and extreme users. These users often install third-party high-end coolers instead. Intel will present an alternative to the standard cooler, their own competitor to such liquid-coolers as the Corsair Hydro- and Antec Kühler-series. The price of this cooler is not yet announced.[6]
- All models support: MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSSE3, SSE4.1, SSE4.2, AVX, Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology (EIST), Intel 64, XD bit (an NX bit implementation), TXT, Intel VT-x, Intel VT-d, Hyper-threading, Turbo Boost, AES-NI, Smart Cache, Intel Insider (Digital rights management).
- Transistors: 2.27 billion
- VT-d hardware support is currently disabled for C1 stepping, this will be fixed with the C2 stepping.[7]
