When the body of a dead Marine is found in Arlington, Virginia, NCIS Special Agents Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and Timothy McGee (Sean Murray) travel to Los Angeles to work with the NCIS Office of Special Projects (OSP). NCIS believes that the Marine's death was related to an arms dealer named Liam, whom they discover to be a "legend" or false identity. Special Agent G. Callen (Chris O'Donnell) adopts the identity of Liam in an effort to catch the killer. Meanwhile in Washington, Special Agent Anthony "Tony" DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) works with forensic specialist Abby Sciuto (Pauley Perrette) to discover the identity of Officer Ziva David's (Cote de Pablo) boyfriend. After reviewing footage from Ziva's undercover operation in Morocco, Tony and Abby discover that Ziva's mystery boyfriend is Mossad agent Michael Rivkin. |

When Ziva identifies Rivkin as an undercover Mossad agent operating in the United States, Tony is forced to question his loyalty to NCIS. Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, Callen goes undercover as Liam in an effort to prevent a terrorist cell from obtaining weapons and launching an attack on Los Angeles. At OSP headquarters, psychologist Nate Getz (Peter Cambor) discovers the startling truth about Gibbs and Special Agent Lara Macy's (Louise Lombard) relationship. The episodes concludes with Callen being shot multiple times in the chest. Note: The result of Callen's injuries is unknown at the end of the episode. However, in the next NCIS episode, "Semper Fidelis", it is revealed that Callen was not killed but is in critical condition on life support.[6] |
