This article lists political parties in Gambia. Gambia is a one party dominant state with the Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction in power. Opposition parties are allowed, but are widely considered to have no real chance of gaining power. In 2005 five opposition parties, virtually the entire political opposition in the country, formed a common umbrella called the National Alliance for Democracy and Development.
