This is a list of regnant and non-regnant princely, royal and imperial houses of the world. The names of reigning monarchs are in bold text. Names used if the individual were reigning are given if known, otherwise the name given is the name currently used for them.

The Republic of Uganda recognizes subsidiary monarchial states as "traditional cultural entities". The six major Kingdoms are listed below. Of these, only Nkore (Ankole) remains unrecognized by the government of the Republic of Uganda.
