List of the oldest United States Senators

This is a list of the 100 oldest people who have served in the United States Senate. It is compiled from senators who have lived the longest, irrespective of their age while in office. Several people on this list were never elected to office as they were appointed, therefore, an addendum has been provided to show the 100 oldest that were elected. Cornelius Cole holds the record for the longest lifespan at 102 years, 47 days as of his death on November 3, 1924. The oldest living person is Edward Brooke at age 94 years, 174 days and he will become the oldest ever if he is still alive on December 13, 2021. The living senator that is closest to entering this list is Dale Bumpers at age 88 years, 249 days.
