Coordinates: 41°11′N 73°12′W / 41.19°N 73.20°W / 41.19; -73.20Little Italy, also commonly referred to as the Central End, is a neighborhood located in the center of inner-city Bridgeport, Connecticut located on Madison Avenue near the Fairfield County Correctional Facility and Central High School. The neighborhood was referred to as Little Italy after its large population of Italian immigrants in the early-mid 20th century. Now, the area also has a significant Portuguese population.
