LiveProcess
LiveProcess is a company that provides a Software as a service (SaaS) platform that allows emergency preparedness coordinators at hospitals, public health agencies, and other healthcare organizations to prepare for and respond to disasters and events. The platform is web-based, enterprise software and can be accessed with any internet connection and browser.
The need for this type of system was exposed during the events of the September 11, 2001 attacks and brought more into the public spotlight following Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.

Founded in 2004 in Westfield, New Jersey to help the healthcare industry to be prepared in disaster situations; LiveProcess gives hospitals, public health agencies and other healthcare organizations a common platform to communicate.
In 2005, Georgia was the first state to adopt the platform statewide. According to an article in the Atlanta Journal Constitution, the Georgia Division of Public Health allocated $3.4 million from a $13.6 million bioterrorism preparedness grant from the federal Health Resources and Services Administration.
LiveProcess was awarded the American Hospital Association (AHA) endorsement for its disaster readiness and incident command solutions for hospitals in February 2008.
In 2009, LiveProcess received U.S. Patent No. 7,596,608 for its Networked Emergency Management System. In the same year, LiveProcess was used by multiple hospitals during the 2009 flu pandemic.

Healthcare organizations can receive support and direction for healthcare emergency preparedness from their local, state and federal government. From the Federal government, the agencies and programs that can assist hospitals and healthcare organizations include:
- The Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP), coordinated through the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR), part of the United States Department of Health and Human Services provides federal grant assistance to hospitals and healthcare organizations to improve community medical and health planning and response capabilities.
- The Joint Commission publishes a set of Emergency Management Standards that many accredited hospitals must adhere to.
- The Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP), maintained by the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s National Preparedness Directorate, Department of Homeland Security provides guidance and tools for assisting organizations in developing useful and standardized exercises for improving response competencies.
