Local Hero is a 1983 soundtrack album by Mark Knopfler for the film Local Hero, produced by David Puttnam and written and directed by Bill Forsyth.[3]

Rolling Stone magazine called it "an insinuating LP of charming, cosmopolitan soundtrack music—a record that can make movies in your mind."[4]
Newcastle United currently runs out onto the pitch for home games at St. James' Park to the song "Going Home".
